Reviewer's opinion:

Review title: Poker website that can get you on the telly
Opinion: I recently registered as a Sky Poker user and have found the site pleasant and easy to use. You have the choice to deposit real money and try to make your fortune in cash games or tournaments, or play in freeroll tournaments (no entry fee, but a relatively small cash prize for the winner). For complete novices, there are also tables where you play with "poker points" as your stake - no money changes hands. Each evening, there is a buy-in tournament called "The Open" that is televised (with appropriate time delay!) on Sky Channel 846. Other Sky Poker tournaments are also covered. This gives you the chance to see your name up in lights on TV, and for the rest of the world to marvel at your sublime trapping skill or inspired laydowns. This really is the USP of this website compared to the many others out there. It's not all about vanity though, because the hands that are covered on TV also get analysed by the resident poker experts. This means that if you are lucky enough to be on a featured table, you can get free advice from a range of poker pros. The TV coverage is also streamed on the website. The website is easy enough to use, with no need to download and install specialist software before use. The players seem friendly enough, and it generally seems to be a good place to get your first feel of online poker. However, other sites do offer more in terms of potential prize money, and satellite tournaments to win seats at major live tournaments - this does not seem to be available at Sky Poker. Pros - Easy to use, friendly, TV coverage and analysis if you are lucky Cons - Prizes are not as lucrative or glamourous as other sites In summary, a decent place to progress your game and make some side cash, but the skilled players will probably want to graduate to other websites for better prizes.
