Buzzy, busy restaurant in the recently renovated Santa
Caterina Market. The menu is a matrix format with 'food type'
(meat/fish/vegetables/salad/starters/light bites/puddings etc)
on one side and 'cooking style' (grilled/barbecued/baked/asian
etc) on the other, and depending what food they selected
from the market that day, different boxes are completed in
the matrix - obviously this means that the same dishes aren't
always available each time you go, but that's half the fun.
You can get (presumably by reserving) private tables but
most of the seating is wagamama-style refectory tables that
you share with other people. The service is enthusiastic and
friendly rather than professional and efficient, but anyone
who has experience of customer service in Spain will know
that this is high praise indeed!
You can drink at the bar and try the bar food - the pulpo a la
gallego is divine.
Prices vary from dish to dish so you can eat very reasonably
or go for a full-on blow out.
Both the bar area and the restaurant are non smoking
throughout.
