Review For: Windows Vista (Microsoft)
Verdict: Vista - Oh Lord
Show Full Details
Description: It's a software system from Windows
Opinion: Only Microsoft would release an experimental piece of
software onto the market expecting to get away with it. It's
sticky and it crashes loads and I know people who are
deliberately reinstalling XP. When I complained at the shop
where I bought my laptop the technical people advised me
not to overload it with new applications (????) particularly
Apple I tunes (!!!???) and added that to them it was a wet
dream. Also they told me I was stuck with it. It's an Apple
Mac next time for me.

Review For: Telephone and Internet (British Telecom)
Verdict: Useless
Show Full Details
Description: BT provide telephone and internet services.
Opinion: BT are the worst service provider in the UK. They are so bad
they are even worse than British Gas. The problem is that
their call centres are spread out over two continents rather
than being in one place. If you ring them about a change to
your service then they place you in an endless cycle of
holding calls in which no-one ever takes ownership of your
problem. It is always someone else's responsibility to the
point where you can actually be transferred endlessly back
and forth between the UK and India; both sets of employees
claiming that you are the responsibility of the other.
I once spent 2 spirit crushing hours in this way, trying to get
my internet sorted out. At one point they were charging me
for both dial up and broadband - why would anyone want
both of those things? If you start to complain about your
treatment to anyone then they simply hang up and you have
to recommence the whole process. I would say it took about
7 hours in total to sort out our minor problem. Since then I've
done what any sensible person would and sought to diminish
all contact with them, so I get my services from elsewhere.
Unfortunately I still have to rent a line off them because
there seems to be no alternative. That costs a scandalous
£10 a month, but the only way to go is to cut all ties with
this disaster of a business.
